A Note on Sources

Every effort has been made to accurately depict the events of Operation Metro Surge and the shooting of Alex Pretti. The account presented in Agency & Resilience was assembled from primary sources wherever possible: government records and official statements, court filings, contemporaneous broadcast and print reporting, and the firsthand testimony of people who were there. Where accounts conflicted, preference was given to sworn testimony, official data, and reporting from multiple independent outlets over any single source.

Government publications cited here are matters of public record. Eyewitness accounts drawn from social media are attributed with identities withheld to protect the individuals involved. Excerpts from broadcast news coverage are reproduced for the documentary record under fair use, and remain the copyright of their respective rights holders.
